Safety Patrol

Safety Patrol participation offers students an early opportunity to serve as a school volunteer. It is an organization that promotes:

The primary goals as a Buford Senior Academy patrol officer are:

To help ensure students are safe during the drop-off and pick up process while on school property.
To remind students to develop safe habits while on school property.
To exhibit qualities of an excellent leadership and citizenship.
To be positive role models for all students.
To promote safe and appropriate behavior at all times.
To carry out the duties of a patrol officer, be dependable, be respectful, and on time every school day.

Safety Patrol Selection Process:

Safety Patrol officers must be in fifth grade. Patrols are selected based on input from teachers, administration and staff. Consideration is based on previous student interest, academic achievement, commitment, sense of responsibility, and attitude toward others. In most cases, students who are dedicated to their school work will be dedicated to patrol responsibilities. Safety Patrol applications will be emailed to homeroom teachers in September for Semester 1 and December for Semester 2.
